The Postal Service honored Theda Bara, Zasu Pitts, , Clara Bow, Charlie Chaplin and more by featuring them on postage stamps that were a part of the Silent Screen Stars Issue. The stamps were designed and drawn by Al Hirschfeld, and were issued in San Francisco, California. The most celebrated caricaturist of our time, Al Hirschfeld created art for fifteen U.S. stamps. All of his drawings include the name of Nina , thus making Hirschfeld the first American stamp artist to include hidden writing in his designs. Issued April 27 1994
